Asia has everything a traveller needs
Asia is a traveller's paradise, being the world's biggest and most populated continent.
Asia boasts miles upon miles of history, culture, resorts, sights, tours, events and adventure-filled destinations to suit all pallets.
Whatever your taste, there are a whole host of places in the wonderful continent of Asia to choose
from. From the old Eastern bloc countries of Russia, Georgia and
Armenia, through to the Middle East and China, into the Far East and down to Indonesia - Asia is an area that surpasses most far-thinking
imaginations. |
|
The scope and diversity in Asia is quite simply unbelievable. To scour the whole of Asia would take a lifetime, or maybe two.
The truth of the matter is that the vast continent of Asia offers a rich variety of travelling experiences for everyone from sunseekers to culture vultures and backpackers to honeymooners. With the ever-decreasing cost of flights more and more people are looking to travel further afield, and Asia is the destination of choice for many people.
While people have been travelling east for thousands of years, only now is Asia really starting to compete as a market leader in terms of offering travelling opportunities and to
all.
Many people may still see much of the Far East as a destination for businessmen and back packers, but this is far from the truth, as we will see as we delve a little deeper into
Asia.
Resorts such as Egypt's Sharm el Sheikh and other places like Dubai are now competing alongside many of the better-known European destinations for sunskeekers, offering familiar hospitality and brilliant weather as well as a taste of the Middle East.
India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives are but just a few of Asia's many Indian Ocean destinations being offered by most tour operators
nowadays.
These areas of Asia have strong links to the UK and boast a diverse history that
would satisfy the cravings of any culture-seeking tourists. Asia is also popular with honeymooners, looking for romantic breaks on faraway shores. Thailand is popular with honeymooners, the top places being Koh Samui, Phuket and Phi Phi Island. The fabulous hotels and the even more fabulous beaches make these areas seem like a taste of Paradise on earth. Breathtakingly clear seas, romantic hideaways and areas packed full of culture will make you want to never go home.
There are also the other Far East destinations of Singapore, Malaysia and the bustling trade city of Honk Kong, all of which have thrived on a well-established tourist trade for many years. And this trade in Asia is showing no signs of diminishing.
And now there is a thriving market for Asia's more unfamiliar destinations, as travellers look to go off the beaten track. Places such as Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos - which used to be simply regarded as stop-offs along the backpacking highway, are starting to attract visitors and the number of tourists is rising every
year.
If it is more of a city experience you are looking for then look no further
than Beijing or Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul or Tokyo, the latter two also having hosted the Olympic Games.
Asia is a mix of the discovered and the undiscovered, and any visitor who travels here will not be
disappointed.
